Abstract

It is crucial to develop the appropriate training program for manager level of administrative public health nurses (PHN) in order to acquire the competencies which can address the complex needs in the society. We developed the reflective learning program based on experimental learning as continuum professional education for PHN in manager level, and introduced the program into the training course for PHN in manager and supervisory level in National Institute of Public Health. In this paper, we report the overview of the program and participants’ evaluations to describe the effectiveness of the program.

The evaluations showed that the program could contribute to increasing of self-efficacy by recognizing their strengths, motivating them to do training and mentoring of staffs, and perceiving the importance of reflection and conceptualization.
