Abstract
The author describes activities of think tanks in the form of public service corporations (non-profit research institution), which have given good products in science, economy, information and labor areas. The Institute for Future Technology authorized by Science and Technology Agency is featured by research on science and technology policy, energy, space and technology forecasting. Japan Center for Economic Research, related to Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc., is active in economic forecasts, forums and seminars. Research of Institute of Telecom-Policies and Economies authorized by Ministry of Postal Service and Telecommunications is featured by theoretical studies of communication, information and new media, and policy researches. Japanese Trade Union Confederation Research Institute for Advancement of Living Standards, related to Japanese Trade Union Confederation (Rengo), enhances studies of labor employment, living and economic society.
