This is an edited document or a record of the work of Science and Technology Lecture Meeting carried out as a part of the 37th Science and Technology Week. Changes in scientific environments were considered dividing the advance of science into three periods. In the 17th century, Newton and others participated actively, however, this first period was positioned as a "pre-scientific period", because all intellectual works were done in a theological environment. The second period that is presently seen as a commonsensible, scientific image of "prototypical science" was demonstrated with the fact that this was not born until the 19th century, and together with this, the present age was indicated as a transition period from the second period to the third "new science" period. Also this document explained that the "new science" can not help but link closely with the society due to its usability, and not only a new responsibility occurs to scientists, but also innovations are pressed to the society in various aspects to possess an ability to understand and check science.
