Abstract
JST (Japan Science and Technology Corporation) has been operating J-STAGE since 1999. J-STAGE supports electronic manuscript submission, electronic peer-reviewing, and dissemination of electronic journals. Although SGML is used as the internal data of J-STAGE now, XML is more suitable for data dissemination, data exchange, and integrated use of data compared to SGML. We developed the prototype tools to apply XML to J-STAGE. This paper describes the aim of the development of XML tools, the outline of the XML tools, and the future plan for J-STAGE.
