The Process for establishment and the present activities of Graduate School of Science and Technology on the Internet, Shinshu University

Abstract

In 2002, Shinshu University, Graduate School of Science and Technology on the Internet (SUGSI) was established. Over 200 students had enrolled for three years. Almost all the students are workers, so we provide some program to assist working student. Before establishment, we investigated about proper type of e-learning materials and developed the systems to provide many services for students. In 2004, the undergraduate course was established. In this paper, we described about the preparations for establishment and the current state of the virtual university by Shinshu University.
