Abstract
To concentrate discovery research in the Tsukuba area, Astellas constructed several new buildings at Tsukuba Research Center (Miyukigaoka) in 2008. In June 2008, the corporate library was relocated and reopened in the new office building. Because the library building connects to all research facilities and features an open floor system, researchers can easily access its resources. At the time of relocation, we optimized print holdings according to the new Astellas print journal collection policy, established in 2006. This optimization ultimately reduced the number of print holdings on file, and more journals were instead made available electronically. Here, we report on the layout development, concept development, and the moving process for the library.
