Springer's scholarly books and Open Access

Abstract

This article introduces the latest developments at Springer, an academic publisher. Open Access and eBooks are the primary focus in the article, as they have become important programs at Springer over the last several years. It also describes the new publishing programs such as SpringerBriefs and the Springer Book Archives. Lastly, it introduces Springer SmartBooks, the latest project, as well as customer feedback on e-textbooks.
