HathiTrust, a collaborative project of university libraries was discussed. It was started in 2008 by university libraries that participated the Google Books Library Project, to archive digital book data obtained from Google. It now archives 11,412,713 materials including 5,888,922 books among which 3,978,007 are in the public domain. The history of Google Books Library Project together with lawsuits and settlements was outlined. The history, current status, its contents, system, and research activities of HathiTrust was discussed.
