Abstract
Many powder fluidized beds are used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries for various purposes. A large amount of electrostatic charge is often generated on polymer powders in fluidized beds, and may lead to electrostatic problems. The performance of the electrostatic field meter was investigated using a small scale fluidized bed system and 2 kg of polypropylene. As a result, the electrostatic field meter generally performed very well in fluidized beds. Several interesting data sets were also obtained and are discussed.
