Abstract
Objective : We investigated respiratory and airway changes in patients with medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) who underwent mandibular partial resection and plate reconstruction.
Methods : Case 1: An 80-year-old man with MRONJ after DMB therapy for multiple bone metastases from prostate cancer. Case 2: A 75-year-old woman with MRONJ after blood pressure therapy for multiple bone metastases from breast cancer. Airway changes and simple sleep test were examined.
Results : The airway narrowed and the respiratory event index worsened postoperatively.
Conclusion : Sleep-disordered breathing may worsen postoperatively.
