Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that occupational therapists (OTRs) working in convalescent rehabilitation wards use to judge the independent toileting ability of stroke patients. Seven OTRs with more than five years of experience working in rehabilitation wards were individually interviewed, and Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) was used to analyze the data. From 97 codes, eight themes and 13 sub-themes were generated. OTRs were found to assess stroke patients' independent toileting ability based on these eight themes. In the future, the number of research participants and facilities should be increased, and the themes further developed.
