Highway Route Selection Utilizing 3D-CAD Aided by The Personal Computer

Abstract

In this paper, several routes are selected comparatively with the application of 3D-CAD and computer graphics based on the perspective view of topographic details. During the design period of a route, it is sometimes difficult to relate the route's alignment and even aesthetics in a three-dimensional manner by merely using design and perspective view drawings. In view of this, we tried to make possible for the three-dimensional digital information in the road design to be effectively utilized by using personal mobile computing on data processing and data representation. As a result, we determined that this method proves to be an easy way in handling 3D digital information.
