Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the trend of modernization of the dwelling in Ubud, a handicraft village in Bali Island. For the purpose, we try to make clear the trend of following items in the dwelling : 1) space composition, 2) furniture, 3) object. In Ubud, although rebuilding and new building in the dwelling are performed according to the use which needs by the dwellers on each time, it is always performed considering the technique of NAWASANGA -traditional space concept- as an underlay. As for modernistic furniture and object, although the considerable number is already exist in the dwelling, it does not change the composition of the dwelling.
