Abstract
In France, based on the final report of "Grenelle de l'Environnement," held in 2007, urban public transport (TCSP) projects whose total length is more than thousand kilometer are planned. In this study, targeting these projects planned by each local authority based on the "Grenelle de l'Environnement," the contents of the projects are inspected through the document for projects. Then it is clarified that the urban transport policy where the construction of TCSP is rapidly promoted has been adapted, and it is confirmed that the mode of adopted project are determined considering the size of population of urban area, the feature of the route (corridor) of the projects. Moreover, it is clarified that by giving time to make project plans to local authorities, the introduction of TCSP in the comparatively small urban areas are boosted.
