Abstract
Recently, Area Based Management activities become more diverse and complicated making it difficult to provide the guideline as a reference to other areas. The study aims to clarify the tendencies and classify 493 area based management organizations from four viewpoints: Organization, Activity, Finance and Effect. By using the Principal Component Analysis, four factors were consequently drawn explaining the area based management activities: Business-Orientation, Vitality Activity-Orientation, Private Facility Utilization-Orientation and Private Network -Orientation. As a result of typology, it is possible to classify eight groups of organizations. The trend and characteristics of each group are clarified through the analysis based on the Principal Component Scores. The affinities among organizations, activities and finances are determined through the comparative analysis of each group.
