Abstract
The objective of the study is to examine the effects of information provision and safety education about child transport bicycle, both for child transport bicyclists and other people. A web-based questionnaire for a total of 1,100 people living in Tokyo and Northern Kanto Region, and a classroom lecture for 29 parents with children under 6 years old in Tokyo were conducted. It was found that attitude toward safe cycling and public awareness toward child transport bicycle were improved after providing the information via website. Also difference in attitude among individual characteristics such as sex, presence of young children, experience of child transport bicycle use and living location disappeared. A classroom lecture with a test-ride was very efficient to keep and improve safe cycling behavior.
