Abstract

Intersection of the road is one of the accident-prone locations for the traffic. Understanding the change of traffic signal might be important to decrease the rear-end collision occurred at there. In this paper, safety level of the signalized intersection with pedestrian signal is evaluated by the traffic data at the intersection and the user experiment data collected in the laboratory. Result of these analyses could show the safety effect of existing the pedestrian signal at the signalized intersection such as the gradual change of vehicle speed, fewer vehicle existed in the dilemma zone and so on.
