A Study of Travel Time Reliability Evaluation for Inter-city Expressway Using ETC Data

Abstract

In this study, an evaluation method of travel time reliability is established using annual ETC data in 2006, and level of service in Inter-city expressway network is analysed with the evaluation method.
Average travel time calculated by ETC data which can exclude the effect of individual driving characteristic and adjusted outskirt value because of stopping at SA/PA, accident and/or construction loss time. As the results, the level of service fluctuates according to area, month and time, and it was confirmed with indexes of travel time reliability. Moreover travel time reliability was evaluated with some indexes combined.
