Abstract
Old towns are being renewed by contemporary space use. An experiment is done to set up miniature model buildings over a map of conventional urban area where many wooden houses still remain. It is observed that town norms are presumed from the photos and models of neighborhood. However no willingness to uniform the spatial configuration is observed in the results. Old town norms is not corresponding to modern space use accurately. However, it is shown to induce the building activity that norms to space use harmonizes with the vicinity to some extents.
