βThis paper estimated the wave overtopping discharge rate of sloping breakwaters armored with wave dissipating blocks using CADMAS-SURF/3D, with a focus on Dupuit-Forchheimer law. Numerical simulations were first performed using the empirical coefficient values (πΌ0 and π½0) provided by previous researches (required for the Dupuit-Forchheimer law). The numerical results were then compared with the experimental data of Watanabe et al. (2021)1), and both minimal and significant deviations were found out. Consequently, a sensitivity analysis was conducted to examine the influence of the πΌ0 and π½0 values on wave overtopping. The influence of πΌ0 on wave overtopping was found to be quite minor compared to that of π½0, and lower values of π½0 appeared to correspond with increasing wave overtopping discharge rate. Afterwards, through a comparison of the experimental and numerical results, the coefficients were optimized, particularly for the wave dissipating blocks. The π½0 values that well-aligned with the experimental values were observed to be dependent on porosity and surf similarity parameter.
