Abstract
The purpose of this study was to clarify the
generational factors on the multi-generation
coexistence consciousness in the elderly
community residents in Japan. Questionnaire
survey was conducted for adults of 20 years and
older and 434 data of elderly was analyzed. In
addition to the attributes, contents of the survey
were participation in volunteer activities and
community activities, the intention of living in a
neighborhood, the relation with the neighbors,
and the multi-generation coexistence
consciousness. After classifying the interaction in
the community, the interconnectedness between
the multi-generation coexistence consciousness
and the association with the neighbors was
cleared. No significant association was seen
between the two items. In the regression analysis,
it was cleared that the type of housing,
participation in community activities, and
satisfaction of neighborhood affected the
multi-generation coexistence consciousness.
