Abstract
Numerical modelling of the thermal field of the Bering Sea lithosphere is made by solving the two-dimensional stationary heat conduction equation with variable coefficients. To explain the positive anomalies of the heat flow the model needs a partial melting zone at the depth of 20-100 km. Based on the calculations for three deep seismic sounding profiles an isodepth map of the roof of the partial melting zone is obtained. This zone has a complicated form. Its roof comes up to 10-20 km depth under the positive anomalies of heat flow.
