Abstract
Under the present administration, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find care facilities for the elderly taking nutrition other than via oral. Given the fact, interviews with resident families at the “Y” residential private nursing home were conducted focusing on the relation between nutrition methods for the elderly and care facilities following their discharge from hospital. The result shows that families are concerned they are unable to confirm care receivers’ thoughts due to difficulties the elderly face in expressing themselves. Furthermore it was introduced that they were forced to choose a residential private nursing home for even the elderly who face difficulties to take nutrition orally.
