Abstract
In this study‚ the 2022 Home Economics pedagogy syllabuses and textbooks on Home Economics pedagogy published from January 2018 to February 2022 after “Teacher Training Course Core Curriculum (2017) the Ministry of Education‚ Culture‚ Sports‚ Science and Technology” was issued‚ were investigated to clarify recognition of Home Economics Education about Home Economics as academic background. The results are as follows
１）There were few references to academic background of Home Economics Education in the syllabuses.
２）Of the 33 textbooks on Home Economics‚ there was no mention of background science in the 10 books of pedagogy for teachers‚ and 60% of the books used as textbooks for university teaching courses did not mention them. Of the ９ books that describe academic background‚ 6 refer to Home Economics as the academic background. The other two books also dealt with science including Home Economics‚ but only one book said there should be a unique academic system other than Home Economics.
