Abstract
HZSM-5 of low SiO2/Al2O3 ratios has been dealuminated by treating with SiCl4 and HCl. HZSM-5 cracking catalysts in which dealuminated HZSM-5 is used as the active component have been prepared. Activity and selectivity of HZSM-5 catalysts in cracking of diesel oil have been correlated to the change in the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of HZSM-5. Results show that as the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of HZSM-5 increases, the yield of gaseous products drops and the yield of gasoline increases, and that the conversions of feed remain at higher levels.
