Abstract
One of the present important issues of a library is how to provide users with services. This article describes the current situation concerning an information transmission project at Kobe Pharmaceutical University. We discuss setting up the internal electronic library management system in the section titled “Past.” In the section titled “Present, ” we introduce how we succeeded in joining the local area network of the university and our recent implementation of the library's homepage service via the Internet. Various methods actually adopted as information transmission means are also introduced. In the “Future” section, emphasis is placed on how librarians should deal effectively with the worldwide information network.
