Ontogeny of the reticulate venation in the pinnae of Onoclea sensibilis was examined.
The reticulate pattern of venation is formed as the result of the anastomosis of the adjacent branches of dichotomizing procambial strands. It can be concluded that the basic developmental pattern of the venation of Onoclea is dichotomous.
