Abstract
We have developed a new, quantitative and reproducible filtration method for measuring erythrocyte filterability, using our own developed nickel mesh filter. The filtration system was designed to continuously detect drops in pressure across the filter during the filtration by continuous, decreasing negative pressure and to automatically obtain the pressure data through a personal computer. Unlike filtration system by gravity, in this system, the cell suspension is sucked in the filter connected to a vertical tube. Therefore, the experimental performance is very easy and reproducible. The new system could contribute to the various related fields of medical science.
