I previously reported in the Japanese Journal of Urology Vol, XIX, No. 2 that “I once succeeded to isolated the Ducrey's bacillus on horse blood agar medium but that the strain ceased to grow on same medium while a strain of about 170th generation old could easily be cultured on horse blood agar.”
I have recently isolated the bacilli on horse blood agar for only one case and the strain is now glowing on the same media (to 24th generation), so I may assure that the bacilli can be isolated and cultured on horse blood agar.
