Abstract

1. Two cases of primary epididymal tumor was experienced. Case 1 was 36 years old. A mass measuring 1.1×0.8×0.6cm was noted at the tail of the left epididymis and extirpated. The histological diagnosis was angioleiomyoma. This patient was the first case of angioleiomyoma in and out of Japan. Case 2 was 46 years old. A mass measuring 1.8×1.2×1.0cm was found at the tail of the left epididymis. This mass was diagnosed histologically as leiomyoma. This patient was the 25th case of leiomyoma in Japan.
2. A total of 107 cases of primary epididymal tumor have been reported in Japan. The tumor was benign in 74 cases (69.2%) and malignant in 33 cases (30.8%). These 107 cases were classified and compared with the 265 cases of primary epididymal tumor reported by Broth (1968) and the 525 cases reported by Czvalinga (1972).
3. The histogenesis of epididymal tumor and angioleiomyomagenesis was reviewed.
