Abstract

The Anterior Segment optical coherence tomography SS-1000 CASIA has now become the CASIA2, which has an improved measurement area and functionality. The topographic function of the CASIA has accurate repeatability with respect to higher-order irregular corneal astigmatism. If the corneal shape is further analyzed by Fourier analysis, it is possible to evaluate irregular corneal astigmatism with asymmetric astigmatic components and higher-order irregularities. Cataract surgery tends to be difficult when irregular corneal astigmatism is present. One of the problems is intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation. By using the CASIA, it is possible to acquire an IOL power calculation based on accurate corneal shape data.
