Magnetic Properties of Ce₂CuGe₆ and Pr₂CuGe₆

Abstract

We report the magnetic properties of Ce₂CuGe₆ and Pr₂CuGe₆, both of which exhibit a ferrimagnetic order around 15, K. Hysteretic curves with small residual magnetization, 7.8× 10^-4, μ _B/f.u. and 1.1× 10^-2, μ _B/f.u., are observed for Ce₂CuGe₆ and Pr₂CuGe₆, respectively. The peak of specific heat and the sharp decrease of electrical resistivity near their ordering temperature are consistent with observed magnetic orders.
