Trinomial Generalized Cantor Set Model for Isotropic Turbulence

Abstract

A trinomial generalized Cantor set model is proposed to precisely predict the singularity spectrum f(α ) of dissipation measure in isotropic turbulence on the basis of the data of turbulence at the fully-developed state obtained by our recent direct numerical simulations on grids of 128³ and 512³. This model can be extended to reasonably predict the expectable negative parts of f(α ) by change of parameters.
