Abstract

The resonant X-ray emission spectra for B 1s core excitation in h-BNare analyzed theoretically by a simple cluster model. It is shown that the observed spectral features are well reproduced bytaking into account the effect of core hole potential and the Coulomb interactions in the valence electrons. The anomalous reductionof the π-component in the spectator emission is explained as aresult of suppression of hybridization in the valence band due tothe screening of the core hole by the spectator electron.
