Abstract

We present new expressions to a pair of Bäcklundtransformations for the modified Volterra lattice equation. We derive a superposition formula to generate multi-soliton solutions.In an appropriate continuum limit, the Bäcklund transformationscoincide with those for the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation.
