An iterative method of determining nonlinear elastic constants of a rectangular ceramic bar poled and excited in the direction of its thickness in the length extensional mode has been developed. The nonlinear elastic compliance coefficients s111E and s1111E were successfully determined by the present iterative nonlinear elastic G–B fitting method. The shifts and deformation of the resonance spectra at high measuring voltages were simulated by taking the elastic higher harmonics into account. The jump in the admittance spectra at higher applied voltages could be fitted by employing two sets of admittance formulas.
