The phonon vibrational frequencies of thallous chloride have been calculated in various symmetry and off-symmetry wavevector directions using shell model. The calculated temperature dependence of specific heat from the vibrational spectrum is in good agreement with the experimental results. However, out results predict higher value for Debye-temperature ΘD at 0°K than the one reported earlier based on Houston’s series expansion method using elastic constant data.
