Abstract
The interchange instability of rotating plasma is investigated from the thermodynamic point of view. The rotation of plasma tends to stabilize itself in the negative δY configuration, where Y=∫(r2⁄B)dl⁄∫(1⁄B)dl. In the negative δ∫(1B⁄)dl configuration with negative δY property the rotating plasma is more stable than the non-rotating one. An example of the negative δY configuration is exhibited.
