Abstract
In the first paper we discussed the cooperative phenomena which are observed when hydrogen is absorbed in palladium by considering the change of energy of the protons with the volume of the metal, and explained the volume changes and unsymmetrical form of the absorption isotherm which are observed when hydrogen is absorbed in palladium. In the present paper we further consider the oscillation of the protons and apply the theory to the case of absorption of deuterium in palladium.
