Non-Existence of Isomeric α-Decay in Dy¹⁵⁴

Abstract

The enhanced alpha decay of Dy^154m was reinvestigated. The alpha particles emitted from the ground states of Dy¹⁵⁴ (10⁶ y) and Dy¹⁵³ (6.8 h) were detected from the same source. However, the alpha particles of 3.37 MeV which had been reported to be an isomeric alpha decay in Dy¹⁵⁴ (13 h) have not been observed.
