Decay of ¹¹²In

Abstract

A study of log ft values of the beta decay of the 1⁺ ground state in ¹¹²In to the 0⁺, 2₁⁺, 2₂⁺, 2₃⁺, 0₁⁺, 0₂⁺ and O₃⁺, ground, first, second and third excited 2⁺ and three excited 0⁺ states in ¹¹²Cd is presented. It shows successive increases in the log ft values for decays to the first and second excited 2⁺ states. The small retardation of the transition to the third excited 2⁺ state and the different retardations among the decays to the excited 0⁺ states are discussed in terms of quasi-band conception and in reference to the relevant experimental facts of neighbouring nuclei.
