Hybrid Resonance Due to Two-Ion Species in a Plasma

Abstract

Hybrid resonance due to two-ion species (H⁺ and H₂⁺) has been observed in a fully-ionized plasma for the density range (2×10¹¹ to 1.6×10¹² cm⁻³) using Stix type induction coil. The dependence of the resonance condition, which was found experimentally, on the concentration ratio of the two ion species, was in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
