Measurement of Magnetostriction Constants of CoS₂ Single Crystal

Abstract

The magnetostriction constants of CoS₂ single crystal were measured by a capacitance method in a temperature range from liquid N₂ to the Curie temperatures.
The constants λ₁₀₀ and λ₁₁₁ are −1.9×10⁻⁶ and 5.7×10⁻⁶ at liquid N₂ temperature respectively, and the absolute values of the constants decrease monotonically with the increase of the temperature.
