Magnetic Annealing in Lithium Ferrite-Manganite

Abstract

Induced magnetic anisotropy constant (Ku) of Li_0.5Fe_2.5−xMn_xO₄ poly-crystals (0≤x≤0.4) was measured at room temperature. x dependence of Ku shows an abrupt change at x=0.3. When x>0.3, Ku increases more rapidly than the range of x<0.3. These properties are discussed based on the Jahn-Teller effect of Mn³⁺ ions.
