Recoil-Distance Lifetime Measurements in ²²Ne, ²²Na and ²⁷Al

Abstract

Levels in ²²Ne, ²²Na and ²⁷Al were excited via (α, n) or (α, p) reactions. Using the recoil-distance method, mean lives (in ps) have been obtained for excited states (keV) in the residual nuclei: ²²Ne(1274)=4.95±0.71, ²²Na(891)=13.9±0.8, ²²Na(1528)=5.93±0.65, ²²Na(2211)=19.7±1.8, ²⁷Al(844)=42.3±5.5 and ²⁷Al(1014)=2.44±0.35.
