Nonlinear Dielectric Anomaly in NaNO₂ in the Paraelectric Phase

Abstract

Nonlinear dielectric constant of NaNO₂ in the paraelectric phase was measured. It was found that the anomaly of the imaginary part relative to the real one shows a similar temperature dependence to the longitudinal ultrasonic attenuation near the Néel point. A theoretical explanation for this anomaly is given.
