Microwave Spectrum of Hydrazine-d₄

Abstract

Microwave spectrum of hydrazine-d₄(N₂D₄) has been observed in the range from 8 to 100 GHz. The inversion splitting is found to be 443 MHz, which is to be compared with 7974 MHz in N₂H₄. The rotational constants of N₂D₄ have been determined to be A=74724.3 MHz, B=18501.9 MHz, C=18437.5 MHz, and the barrier height to inversion to be 2120 cm⁻¹ by using a Manning potential function.
