Non-Linear Local Environment Effect in Fe₃Pt Observed by Mössbauer Effect of Fe⁵⁷ and Pt¹⁹⁵

Abstract

In order to study the local environment effect, measurements of the Mössbauer effect of Fe⁵⁷ and Pt¹⁹⁵ were made for Fe_70.7Pt_29.3, Fe_71.4Pt_28.6 and Fe_75.1Pt_24.9 alloys. The Mössbauer patterns were analysed in a similar way to that described in a preceding paper. The results show that the hyperfine field and the magnetic moment on Fe and Pt atoms change non-linearly to the number of Fe atoms on the nearest neighbor shell, especially for ordered alloys.
