Abstract
Distributions of the quadrupole splitting observed by the Mössbauer effect in amorphous YFe2 and Fe16Ni62B14Si8 broaden during annealing below their crystallization temperatures. From the broadening it is concluded that the structural relaxation produces a rearrangement of nearest neighbor atoms towards a random configuration.
