Ferroelasticity in CsHSeO₄ below the 128°C Transition

Abstract

The optical and X-ray examinations of CsHSeO₂ were made at temperatures above and below the 128°C transition (T_c). It is found that CsHSeO₄ is ferroelastic with a large spontaneous shear strain, x_z⁰=7.9×10⁻², at room temperature and becomes paraelastic above T_c.
